| Penerangan CU | Boiler fireside (Furnace) component maintenance is a competency in servicing and repairing fireside component and parts of boiler system. Boiler fireside (furnace) is the area to generate heat in boiler system. The components such as brick, fire grate, refectory, fusible plug, tubes, shell and other equipment must always in good condition inline with boiler it self that running in long time. The component must be sufficiently serviced, repaired or inspected during it operation. The person who is competent in boiler fireside component maintenance shall be able to identify boiler fire side maintenance requirement, apply boiler fire side components maintenance permit to work, prepare boiler fire side maintenance tools and equipment, isolate boiler system, service boiler fire side, repair boiler fire side component, test boiler fire side components functionality, prepare boiler fire side mechanical components maintenance report. The outcome of this competency is to ensure the boiler fireside component running smoothly and safely according to manufacturer specification and regulatory body requirement (DOSH). The personnel who will be competent in this competency must in prior have the following competencies:- • Welding Certificate • Confine Space Permit/ Certificate |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to service and repair boiler fireside components. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Identify boiler fire side component maintenance requirement • Apply boiler fireside components maintenance permit to work • Prepare boiler fire side maintenance tools and equipment • Isolate boiler system • Service boiler fire side component • Repair boiler fire side component • Test boiler fire side components functionality • Record boiler maintenance logbook |
