| Penerangan CU | Boiler flue gas system component maintenance is a competency in servicing and repairing flue gas system component and parts of boiler system. Flue gases are produced when coal, oil, natural gas, wood or any other fuel is combusted in boiler furnace to heat water becomes steam. Boiler flue gas system component such as damper, drive unit, fire brick, castable, insulation, spiral, tubes, ducting, smoke box, explosion chamber and other equipment must always in good condition running in long time. The component must be sufficiently serviced, repaired or inspected during it operation. The person who is competent in boiler flue gas system component maintenance shall be able to identify boiler flue gas system component maintenance requirement, apply boiler flue gas system component maintenance permit to work, prepare boiler flue gas system component maintenance tools and equipment, isolate boiler system, service boiler flue gas system component, repair boiler flue gas system component, test boiler flue gas system components functionality and prepare boiler flue gas system components maintenance report. The outcome of this competency is to ensure the boiler flue gas system running smoothly and safely according to manufacturer specification and regulatory body requirement (DOSH). The personnel who will be competent in this competency must in prior have the following competencies:- • Welding Certificate • Confine Space Permit/ Certificate |

| Objektif Pembelajaran | The person who is competent in this competency unit shall be able to service and repair boiler flue gas system component. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:-. Upon completion of this competency unit, trainees will be able to:- • Identify boiler flue gas system component maintenance requirement • Apply boiler flue gas system component maintenance permit to work • Prepare boiler flue gas system component maintenance tools and equipment • Isolate boiler system • Service boiler flue gas system component • Repair boiler flue gas system component • Test boiler flue gas system components functionality • Record boiler maintenance logbook |
